Quincy, Kentucky

Upon leaving Colton, the mainlines cross the Kentucky River over a pair of operating Walthers bascule bridges. In the foreground, the highway crosses over a working pair of CMR Rolling Lift bridge kits which I modified for vehicle traffic. All four lift bridges are controlled by a fascia control panel. Along the west bank of the Kentucky River is the town of Quincy, KY. Quincy is represented by a few small businesses, a VFW hall, and the Mountain State Paper mill. This large complex has separate tracks for unloading of kaolin, loading of waste chemicals, a warehouse, receiving of liquid chemicals and unloading of wood chip hoppers via a rotary dump. Leaving town, the mainlines have the option of entering the Lexington, KY staging yard or entering a tunnel that leads to Buckhorn, KY. Both are located under the C&OV town of Summit.
