Welcome to the C&OV Website...
Completely Redesigned and Updated!
After more than a year without any updates, my website has now been totally redesigned to better showcase the nearly-complete layout. Starting with the "Tour the C&OV" page, you can now choose to begin a westward tour of either the C&OV or C&O railroad. All of the "under construction" photos have been removed to focus on each of the towns in their finished state. The one exception is the town of Colton which is the only remaining section of the layout left to complete. As a result, I have created four separate Colton galleries (lower east, lower west, upper east, upper west) to reflect updates in the current area of concentration. So far, the west end, back wall and viaduct have been finished. I am currently working on the 18-foot Front Street section, with the Union Station and REA buildings already permanently installed! The entire layout is easily 95% complete and should be finished by the end of the year! A new "Construction" page has been added to consolidate photo galleries documenting the layout building addition, benchwork, and track laying.
The pages for my former HO-scale Mississippi Alabama and Gulf remain unchanged. However, the page for my G-scale Hooterville Bugtussle and Pixley garden railroad has been removed as I razed the layout 3 years ago. The area was repurposed for expanded outdoor living space and features a fire pit, putting green, outdoor games and pergola. I did add a simple dogbone loop of G scale track around the raised rear perimeter so that I could still run my equipment.
I promise to do much better with updating the website going forward. Once the layout is finished, I plan on filming a lot of track side "railfan" videos of the layout in action, as well as some that concentrate on local switching and other operations-oriented content. I have been wanting to do this website overhaul for over a year, so I hope you enjoy the changes and will continue your ride. If you are a first time visitor, WELCOME ABOARD!
